Frisco Square Christmas Lights Begin Soon After the Turkey is Gone!

Frisco Square View from Main Street, Frisco
Shortly after the turkey is put away and after a big day of football and shopping comes a highlight for Frisco and the surrounding area. The annual Christmas in the Square Holiday Lights begin this Friday evening, November 27 at 6 p.m. Frisco Square will remain lit nightly from 6-10:00 p.m. from November 27 through January 3.

The lights in Frisco Square are timed to Christmas music heard from your car radio. It is a truly amazing show!

If you and your family have never seen the lights in Frisco, make a point to do it soon... I can almost guarantee you will return several times before the end of the season.

Frisco Square will have periodic events throughout the Christmas season. Check back here frequently for updates.

Until then, have a TERRIFIC THANKSGIVING and please take time to think about what and who you are truly thankful for...and then tell the people that you thought of how much they mean to you.

If you are fortunate enough to spend the day with family, take in each moment and remember that tomorrow is not guaranteed, so make the most of today!

Remembrance of September 11, 2001

May We Never Forget!

Eight years ago today, almost 3,000 Americans lost their lives and ALL of us were impacted forever.  Please take some time today to remember those lost and pray for the friends and family members left behind, as well as our country as we continue to go forward.  May we never, ever forget!

God Bless America!

Frisco Making Plans for 2011 Super Bowl Functions & Visitors

Frisco Making Super Bowl Plans
(
Frisco, Texas)

The Frisco Convention and Visitors Bureau has made the decision to contribute money toward the Dallas area Super Bowl XLV projects, reports the Dallas Morning News. Frisco made the decision because the city is wanting not only to get some hotel visits out of the grand event, but would also like some non-staduium, Super Bowl functions to be held at Pizza Hut Park or the Dr Pepper Arena.

The 2011 Super Bowl is slated to be played at the New Cowboy's Stadium, in Arlington (aka...Jerry World).

Frisco's Annual Family Focused Mother-Son Dance is Set for Saturday, October 3, 2009

 Frisco's 2009 Mother-Son Dance Set for
Saturday, October 3

The city of Frisco has established numerous family focused annual events that help to set this community apart.  Events such as the Mother-Son Dance (along with the Father-Daughter Dance), community wide parades, a fantastic July 4 family centered celebration and a Very Merry Main Street Christmas Holiday Celebration both provide families with good clean fun and establish a greater since of community for the residents. Activities such as these make Frisco a place people want to live and also help to raise Frisco real estate values.

A patriotic "Salute to America" theme decorated by red, white and blue will be the focus of this year's Mother-Son Dance that will be held on Saturday, October 3 at Frisco's Wakeland High School. (Located at 10700 Legacy Drive.)  To provide a more kid-friendly atmosphere, two dance times are available and separated by age groups, with a 5:30 dance for ages four to seven, and a 7:30-9 p.m. dance for older kids ages eight to twelve.

Dress in "Sunday-Best" but patriotic attire and show your patriotic pride as you make your way around the dance floor.

Tickets are $12 and are on sale now at the Frisco Athletic Center located at 5828 Nancy Jane Lane, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.,Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 5 p.m. All tickets purchased online must be picked up at the Frisco Athletic Center by 9 p.m. on Friday, October 2.

Tickets may also be purchased online at www.FriscoFun.org.

Portrait packages will be available for purchase at a price of $22 and include two 5x7 prints and eight wallet size photos. Photos can only be purchased at the event and must be paid for by cash or check.

If you have a young son, enjoy this opportunity to make great memories.  At the same time, use the night as an educational opportunity to teach the young men of our youngest generation how to treat the young ladies of our youngest generation.

Enjoy and make it another fantastic family focused evening in Frisco!
