Remember - When buyers make a decision to purchase a home they do it emotionally! The feeling they get from the house and the way they picture themselves enjoying the home, are two of the most important factors in the decision to buy. The following list offers a few suggestions to help the buyers create their own good feelings and visualize themselves owning your home.

 

QUICK TO-DO'S PRIOR TO EVERY SHOWING...

 

• Open drapes, blinds
• Turn on lights (even on sunny days)
• Turn on soft music...instrumental music at a very LOW VOLUME works best
• Quickly clear the easy to get clutter
• Make sure beds are made and dirty laundry is not on the floor
• Place dirty dishes in the dishwasher
• Spray or Plug-In Air Fresheners
• Take pets for a walk, in a kennel, or at least in the back yard before all showings.
• Adjust the thermostat - Cool in summer/warm in winter.  Also keep in mind when choosing a temperature, that the buyer has likely been in & out of the weather multiple times recently prior to entering your home.  The temperature should be very comforting.
• Leave the Property if at all Possible.  If leaving is not a possibility, try to stay outside until the showing is over and do not engage any conversations with the potential buyers about the details of your sale.

Frisco's Fire Safety Town will be the setting of a Spooktacular‚ event tomorrow night, October 23. The third annual Trick-or-Treat happens from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children, tots through fifth graders, are invited to come in costume and trick or treat‚ through our miniature town, located next door to Frisco Central Fire Station, 8601 Gary Burns Dr. Admission is free.

Parking at the event site is limited. The large field located to the east of Central Fire Station will not be open for parking this year.  A free shuttle service is available at the Frisco Athletic Center parking lot, located at 5828 Nancy Jane Ln., just east of the Preston Road and Wade Boulevard intersection. Frisco ISD school buses will be shuttling visitors 
back and forth from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Frisco Fire Chief Mack Borchardt encourages those attending to use the free shuttle service as the easiest and safest way to get to Frisco Fire Safety Town.  "Due to recent, heavy rains, the fields around Central Fire are too muddy to allow people to park in them," said Chief Borchardt. "We don‚t want vehicles to get stuck in mud, so we‚re placing barricades around this area to prevent parking there. We encourage everyone to use the shuttle service from the Frisco Athletic Center instead."

This year, while you wait in line, refreshments will be available for purchase at Frisco Fire Safety Town.

CHECK COMPLETED ITEMS:

 

• Paint walls and woodwork where necessary.
• Clean draperies and carpeting (stretch if loose).
• Fix any dripping faucets; perhaps only a washer is needed.
• Replace old caulking around the bathtubs. This can be done with one tube of new caulking and a putty knife.
• Spray lubricant on all squeaking doors, windows, closets, and cabinets.
• Place a solid deodorizer in rooms where needed. 
• Store out-of-season clothes so the closets don’t have a cluttered
• look.
• Remove items from the floors of walk- in closets so that prospects can have easy access.
• Avoid too many appliances on the kitchen counter, put some of them away to expose maximum counter space.
• Pre-pack items which may clutter your home. Extra toys in your child’s room and knick-knacks may actually make your rooms appear smaller.
• Clean your home top to bottom. A professional cleaning service can do this for you.
• Wash windows.
• Clean fans and ventilating hoods.
• Clean and polish floors.
• Remove stains from toilets, tubs, and sinks.
• Stack all items in the garage against the walls to show maximum floor space.
• Clean the garage floor and rafters. 
• Make sure the garage door opener functions properly.
